The beauty of Ramadhan and Syawal where other religion could never understand..

Back to routine.

There’re times when I feel like crying. Thinking of the beauty of Syawal. And what I had gone through in Ramadhan. These 2 special months, I have always been looking forward to them every single year. Came the 1st day of Ramadhan. Everyone is semangat. Sahur at dawn. Slept after Subuh prayers. Then wake up in the morning. In the afternoon the women prepare for Sungkai. The men went out to the Gerai Ramadhan nearby to get the foods and drinks. Then Sungkai. Everybody gathered. Family. And friends too. After Sungkai, the Maghrib & Isya’ prayers. After the Isya’ prayers, muslims gather at the mosque to perform the Terawikh prayers. Oh how merciful. Islam is such a peaceful religion. Not to mention its beauty. I love it. And then it goes the same way throughout the whole month of Ramadhan.

The 3rd week of Ramadhan, most of us are already starting to prepare and shop for Syawal, i.e, Hari Raya Aidilfitri. I love all the rushwork and last minute shopping for Raya. This is the period when I am NOT in the mood to go to work. It’s the festive season. I so like it when the shopping malls play the raya songs. It kept me in a good Raya mood. The shops offered discounted rates here and there. Hari Raya cards were sent and received. The women distributed the raya kueh list in their office. The most wanted kueh is the ROLL TAPAK KUDA. Whoever invented it, I respect you! This particular kueh is just a simple kek roll but the secret of it is the NUTELLA fillings. Oh so lovely.

Soon came the final week of Ramadhan, it turned hectic. Especially for the women. Not to mention the traffic. But it’s fun. Altho stressing, sometimes. The night of Syawal is so sayu, indah and blissful. Takbir here and there. Houses were lit up with nice colourful cuculs. The young ones play bungapi. Cars were cleaned. The house is beautifully decorated.

There’s just too much to mention. The beauty of it cannot be replaced with any other months of the year. Kudrat Illahi..no one can surpass it. Allahuakbar..!!
